What is happening with the lettings market in Rickmansworth in the run up to Summer?
Tenant enquiries are at their highest levels ever giving landlords a fantastic choice of tenants, higher rental prices and tenancies being secured within a day of going onto the market. We received 450 enquiries from portals alone in the last month which indicates what a huge pool of applicants there are looking for rental properties.
For example, we’ve recently let a town centre 2 bedroom apartment in Ebury Road which had 3 offers at asking price on the first day of marketing. The price was £100 more per calendar month than traditionally achieved for this type of property. We rented 23 properties in July, many of which rented within a week of them coming to the market.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about renting their property?
Come and speak to us. We are desperate for more property, especially 1 & 2 bedroom town centre apartments and now that we have the NATO military contracts back on our books, larger detached family homes with long-term tenancies are in huge demand. Recently a Chorleywood 4 bed / 2 bath detached house went to military tenants for £2750pcm and a luxury studio in Church Street was also secured for a military tenant at £850pcm.
Some additional positive news is that over 50% of the new 33One Rickmansworth development has been sold and secured to landlord investors, and we shall have these apartments available for rent towards the end of Summer.
